Open Studio: Visual Artist Aileen Bahmanipour
Open Studio is a video series that takes you inside the studios and creative spaces of Banff Centre’s artists.
Aileen Bahmanipour is a visual artist who makes her own paper by incorporating a very unusual material—human hair. For her, hair is “a metaphor of time and also a container of information.” She further explores the already-politicized material by incorporating drawings of Iranian currency on her finished paper products. Aileen was at Banff Centre as a Banff Artist in Residence. Watch our video to learn more about her artistic practice.
